Number 10 – Toward the Promise Land by Faith

Have you been in 120 degree weather? I have in two different places: Yuma, AZ and Iraq. Yeah its terrible, I could imagine the Israelites marching through the desert with similar weather but they had something that helped them…

verses 33-34
Thus they set out from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey, with the ark of the covenant of the Lord journeying in front of them for the [k]three days, to seek out a resting place for them. The cloud of the Lord was over them by day when they set out from the camp.

The supernatural cloud covered and protected them from the severe weather of the Arabian Desert. No matter where they went as long as the followed God’s will his protection was with them. It reminds me a of a verse in 1 Cor 10:2, “And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.” In a similar way Christians when baptized we are covered by the Holy Spirit. He is there to help us grow spiritually. And like the Israelites we are protected on our way to the Promise Land. Let us God this morning to fill us with His Spirit and sing this as we are marching to the Promise Land:
I am bound for the promised land,
I am bound for the promised land;
Oh who will come and go with me?
I am bound for the promised land.

Blessings,

Dnieper Vega
