Psalm 64 – The Perfect Crime?

I’m glad to say that I have successfully concluded my second year of college (along with other writers of this blog) and am one step closer to reaching graduation. Finals are always very taxing but it’s a privilege to be back again sharing God’s words of hope with all of you.
This chapter addresses an issue that we may all have wondered about at some point in time. Find out more here…

As they plot their crimes, they say,
“We have devised the perfect plan!”
Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.
But God himself will shoot them with his arrows,
suddenly striking them down.
Their own tongues will ruin them,
and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

For those of you who have watched any crime investigation show or the news at any time, you may have noticed that there seems to be no “perfect crime.” Sooner or later the culprit will be caught. Yet, there are crimes that have not yet been resolved and we wonder if they ever will be. The answer is “yes.” In His time, God will reveal every act and all “hidden” things will be revealed (Ecc. 12:14; Heb. 4:13).
But, what about you and I? Do we have any “hidden deeds” that we would be ashamed of if exposed? There is a wonderful promise that I would like to share with you:

“For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”

“And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.”

“Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away my sin!”

There is no shame in Christ our Righteousness.

Blessings,
Josue Hernandez
