It seems to be that for the last couple times that I’ve had to write on a chapter in the Book of Psalms it’s been about judment. But I believe that it is an essential theme to keep in mind. Not simply because we want justice but because we will at last be vindicated by God…
Rise up, O God, and judge the earth,
for all the nations belong to you.
Judgment should not be a time of fear but of joy because it is a time of redemption and the culmination of what Christ began at the cross. Satan constantly brings charges against God’s children accusing us of unfaithfulness but judgment provides Satan with the evidence from the investigation that He “who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus return” and that “God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.” Therefore, “let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.”
“Fear God, give glory to him. For the time has come when he will sit as judge. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”
