Acts 2 – The Holy Spirit

This chapter is so amazing! So imagine you are in a room where just weeks before you were with a group of people all scared for their lives. Now you’re in that same room again praying when something comes down like tongues of fire. I do not know about you but I would be even more terrified, but this was a good thing for the disciples. It was the Holy Spirit coming down on them. Lets read on to see what happened after the Holy Spirit came down.

They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity–all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
Acts 2:46-47

So here were men and women scared for their lives, but just a few weeks later, as soon they receive the Holy Spirit, they start to preach and no longer care what was going to happen to them. These men became fearless–fearless men who started a revolution, fearless men who, by preaching the gospel, changed and saved so many lives, like the last part of this chapter says in verse 47.

Is it not amazing how powerful the Holy Spirit is? If you are too scared to go and tell people about the good news, ask the Lord for the Holy Spirit. With each and everyone filled with the Holy Spirit the Lord can add more numbers daily to the book of life. Let’s be filled with the Holy Spirit today!
