Have you ever thought that you could never be received by God because of what you have done, that maybe the “door of mercy” has been shut on you never to be open again? I’m sure that you have not done what the Israelites of the Northern Tribes did, yet God kept His door of the Sanctuary open for them. This chapter is an object lesson of God’s mercy and willingness to forgive and heal; be encouraged, the door is open!!!
Now do not stiffen your neck like your fathers, but yield to the Lord and enter His sanctuary which He has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that His burning anger may turn away from you.
For Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon everyone who prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though not according to the purification rules of the sanctuary.” So the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people. 2 Chronicles 30:8,18-20
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 8:1-2 “Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest [Jesus], Who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.”
Jesus is currently in the Heavenly Temple as our High Priest ministering for our healing and restoration. Friends, the door is open and Jesus said that He would never reject any one. (John 6:37) Come to Him as the Israelites did and be healed. Remember this promise in 1 John 2:1 “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;”
