Based on Philippians 4:10-13
Throughout this chapter, the man who is saying this prayer is showing us his character. In verses 11-12, he says, “Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity.” This sounds like an ordinary man. A lot like all of us! He’s been through life. He’s been through all of his struggles. We can all relate to him. We struggle every day. But the question is: How do we handle it?
In verse 10, he says, “I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.” God gave us all the wonderful gift of free will. Unfortunately, the majority of the things that happen in this world are caused by the use of “corrupted” free will, and sin. But despite the things this man has gone through, he still rejoices in the LORD, and you can tell that he is at peace.
In verse 13, he says, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” He is willing to admit that things will happen, and most of the things that happen to us we cannot avoid. We can’t run away. All we can do, is stand tall and say, “Bring it.”
It is a very content feeling to know that you can do everything through Christ who strengthens us. All we need is faith the size of a mustard seed. Never doubt, and just believe that you can get through this. You are never alone. God is always there for you and He will surely deliver you!
So I have a simple challenge for all of you who have read this today. Never give up. Never lose hope. Never lose faith. Always trust in God and you will be content. Trust me, when you have enough faith, every situation that comes your way won’t faze you in the least! Because God is there for you, His arm is ready to protect you.
Have a great week everybody!
