Who can find a faithful man? Is there one among us? Do we know any? Do we have a friend who has never let us down? A family member? There is only One who is truly faithful. There is only One who truly is constant. It is Him. “A king that sitteth on the throne of judgement,” who “scattereth away all evil with his eyes.” –Proverbs 20:8
Proverbs 20 (which you can read here) has an overarching theme of what is noble. It seems to say “Here is what nobility looks like. Who is like this?” Who is noble among us? Who walks with integrity, scatters evil with His eyes, has a hearing ear and seeing eye? God. It is by looking to Jesus that we can see true nobility. It is by seeing Him and all His ways that we can begin to understand what it means to be holy, set apart, the image of God.
This is what God calls us to be. He wants us to walk with integrity, to “scatter evil,” to be just. It is by seeing Christ and by being transformed that this can become a reality. So why not begin now? You could even start by meditating on this chapter. Let us read, change, and become what God wants us to be.
